Capiz Shell Candle Holders
Capiz shells are found in the Philippine seas and are named after the town of Capiz, where the shells are usually harvested. It has a translucent pearly-like texture and is most often used for home decor and fashion accessories.
During the colonial era, Capiz shells were used in making sliding windows because they are translucent enough to allow daylight to pass through. These windows can still be seen in older houses throughout the Philippines.
The Capiz Shell Poppy Candle Holder was designed in memory of those who fought for their country and for the safety of others, but are no longer with us.
£1 is donated to the British Legion for every candle holder sold.
